Our New Home: DIY Coffee Station

I love my Keurig. Plain and simple.

However, I do not love how sometimes my Keurig doesn’t FIT under standard cabinets. OR how it doesn’t fit into our BEAUTIFUL custom built cabinets. Grr.

SO… my mom and I came up with a plan to fix that little problem.

Meet: The Glaze Coffee Station

My mom went to this place that sells old barn wood and really neat knick knacks like that and found this really cool BOX. She called me so so so excited about how this box could be used to hold our Keurig. I immediately knew what she was talking about and had this beautiful VISION of this super awesome coffee spot in our kitchen.

My husbands reaction…

Uhhhhh…. you’re going to do WHAT with an old wooden box? {Don’t worry, he loves the end result. He just had a hard time visualizing this space}

We thought that the wall looked kind of plain above the Keurig, so my mom found a vintage pot holder from an antique shop. She gave it a new paint job and hung it on the wall. Then, she found some super awesome SHOWER CURTAIN CLIPS and hooked my coffee mugs to it!

This space also gives the perfect place for our trash can. Without our coffee station, our hideous trash can just sits out in the middle of the kitchen so that everyone can see our trash when they walk through. Yuck. Our plan is to get a beautiful stainless steel trash can to match our kitchen even better!

I absolutely LOVE how you were able to make your garbage can fit right into your kitchen and look good doing it! You are right about getting the stainless steel one to look even better.
You are so lucky to have such a wonderful relationship with you mom.

Your Coffee station @ home is just adorable. Everything looks perfect! You have a very nice Mom. Now on to a small question. What is the brand of toaster you own? I love stainless steel & hence my curiosity! 🙂

Cute coffee station! I love your sign, where did you find that? That’s exactly how I like my coffee and think it would be appropriate above my soon to be coffee station! Thanks!

I’m really impressed together with your writing abilities and also with the
layout to your weblog. Is that this a paid subject matter or
did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the
excellent high quality writing, it’s rare to see
a great weblog like this one these days..

Great job setting up a station! It fits in well! My big problem with the Keurig is the tons of plastic waste. I just can’t do it! We have an espresso maker that luckily fits well in our walk-in pantry.

to BusyWorkingMama; you can buy a little reusable “basket” that fits in the Keurig.
