DIY Household Cleaner {Recipe}

Prior to getting pregnant with Brooklynn… messes did not bother me.

At. All.

From the time I was a tiny tot I drove my mother BANANAS with how little it bothered me when my things were cluttered and messy.

Pregnancy changed all of that.

Nesting is a real thing, you know.

Once I hit the end of my second trimester I started cleaning. And cleaning. And cleaning. I couldn’t stop! I used so much 409 and Windex trying to get everything SQUEAKY clean.

My mom told me about a cleaning solution recipe that she uses that gets the house extremely clean and is highly cost efficient! I got the supplies, made myself a batch, and I use it to clean everything! It has a VERY strong odor for a couple of minutes after using it – but – it goes away and you are left with super clean surfaces!

This is not necessarily a “going green” recipe. Just an easy way to make a solution that WORKS. 🙂

  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Ammonia
  • Water
  • Cleaning Solution Spray Bottle {If you want to make this a sort of “green” project… Re-use one of your old 409 or Windex bottles!}

  • Use the ration 1-1-1 when mixing this solution. I typically pour 1 cup water, 1 cup ammonia, and 1 cup rubbing alcohol because that’s what my spray bottle will hold. It lasts me 2-3 weeks.

Enjoy! <3
