Refill Reminders from Walgreens Pharmacy

Medication refills— it’s something I struggle with every single month.  Since Raileigh was diagnosed with incredibly severe allergies last year, there are now several medications that she must take on a daily basis.  One of these medicines can be purchased over the counter, but the others require a prescription.

One prescription we use as needed, but the other needs to be refilled on a monthly basis.  The problem is that I never seem to remember that refill until she’s taking her last pill.

I’d heard about the refill reminders services available from Walgreens and I decided to check it out and see if this might be a solution that could work for my family.  We’ve got a Walgreens store conveniently located near the entrance of our neighborhood, so the location is certainly ideal for convenient pick-up.  Now to see if they offered some sort service that could help me remember to get there and pick up that prescription.

Since my smartphone is never very far away from me, I decided to check out Walgreens Mobile.  They’ve got an awesome free app that’s available for Apple, Android, and Windows platforms, as well as iPad and Kindle Fire.

Instantly, I could see several things I was excited about within the app.  Under Pharmacy, there’s a plethora of different options I can use to ensure that my family has their medication when they need it.

Refill by Scan is the perfect option for Raileigh’s prescription that we only have to order as needed.  This prescription is for her breathing treatments– something that is only necessary when she’s having an allergy attack.  Thankfully, we don’t have to use it too often, but it’s vital to have when we do need it.

Refill by Scan makes it easy for me to request a refill whenever we may need one.  I simply scan the barcode on her current inhaler {you can scan a QR code as well} and it instantly sends an alert to our local Walgreens store to administer a refill.  It is incredibly simple and easy.

It’s also easy to ensure that her prescription we need each and every month is refilled when we need it.  That’s because I set it up with auto refill.  Now every month, a few days before her current bottle runs out, a new bottle of allergy pills is filled and ready for us to pick up at Walgreens.

Walgreens also has refill reminder emails and texts available to let you know it’s time to come in and get that prescription.  They really are working hard to ensure that you have the prescriptions you need when you need them.

I am thrilled with the pharmacy service available from Walgreens.  I no longer have to worry about having the medicine when we need it because Walgreens makes it easy to ensure that we always have the prescriptions we need.  It’s also reassuring to know that as Raileigh’s allergies evolve and her medications change, pharmacy chat from #WalgreensRX is only a click away if I have any questions.
