Poppin' Oebbles

We are a family completely obsessed with cereal.  I am quite certain that my daughter eats cereal at some point every single day.  On any given day, we usually have five or six boxes of cereal in the pantry– sometimes more!  We certainly have our favorite varieties, but we also love to try new ones as well.

That’s why I was thrilled that one of our go-to cereal brands, Fruity Pebbles, was introducing several new varieties!

Poppin’ Pebbles is an awesome new cereal for kids of all ages.  It is bursting with a delicious berry flavor and actually has pieces that fizz in your mouth!  It’s truly an explosion of flavor and fun!

Poppin's Pebbles Cereal Bowl

Raileigh has been slightly obsessed with a familiar old-school candy that pops in your mouth, so I knew that she would love to try this innovative new cereal.

I was right!  She giggled all through breakfast as the green pieces of Poppin’ Pebbles popped and fizzed while she ate.  We also both found the berry flavor of this new cereal to be extremely yummy.

It was such a hit that I decided to incorporate the cereal into our baking.  There was a recipe for cereal treats printed right on the box.  I modified it to fit what I had on hand.

Poppin' Pebbles Cereal Treats

Poppin’ Pebbles Cereal Treats

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 bag marshmallows
  • 4 1/4 cups Poppin’ Pebbles cereal

Begin by greasing an 8″x8″ glass pan and setting aside.  Alternatively, you can line your pan with aluminum foil and then grease that.  It does make for slightly easier clean-up.

Place your butter in a medium-sized mixing bowl and microwave until melted.  This took about 30 seconds.

Add your marshmallows to the bowl and toss until well-coated.  Return to the microwave for approximately 45 seconds– until the marshmallows have melted as well.

Working quickly, add your cereal to the bowl and mix until it is completely coated with the marshmallow mixture.  Pour into your baking dish, using the back of a spoon to press it into the dish.

Wait a few hours until the cereal treats have set.  I find that the easiest way to cut them is with a knife that has been greased well.  If you don’t grease the knife, the treats will stick to it.

These Poppin’ Pebbles Cereal Treats were a hit with my daughter, my entire family, and even my husbands co-workers.  They taste so incredibly good.

I’ve seen Poppin’ Pebbles at several of my local grocery stores and will be picking up several more boxes on our next shopping trip.

Have you tried Poppin Pebbles yet?
