Show Support for Friends & Family In Need with CaringBridge

It’s the holiday season and certainly a time filled with joy.

However, this holiday season has brought tremendous sadness to some that I know and love.  Last month, we said good-bye to Darren’s aunt after she fought a long, hard bad with liver failure, among other things.  My sister lost her longtime soccer mentor to a heart attack on the same day.  Today, I also received a call that she lost a dear old woman from her church whom she had been very close to.  They found out only two weeks ago that she had cancer.

I also have a dear old friend, who is recovering from cancer, that is in the hospital fighting an especially bad case of pneumonia.  His wife, also recovering from cancer, sits by his side daily.

CaringBridge, an absolutely amazing non-profit organization, makes it easier than ever to keep up with our friends and family during difficult times such as these.  They provide free, personal websites, aiming to help people to stay connected and receive support during any type of health journey.

Visitors can view the website which the patient or family member updates and share a kind word and other support to those who need it.  It’s easy, it’s effective, and it’s a really wonderful way to be there for the people we care about.

Each day, CaringBridge services more than 500,000 people.  That is tremendous.

This holiday season as you are decorating the tree, purchasing gifts, and taking in the lights, take a moment to visit CaringBridge and show support for those who might be struggling this holiday season.  A kind word, an “I’m Thinking of You”, can really mean so much.
