Starting the Morning Right with Tasters Choice & Pumpkin Spice Coffee-mate

Y’all… I might be the only parent I know that is excited about daylight savings time.  I absolutely love that the sun is rising earlier in the day.  I tend to struggle to fully wake up when it’s pitch black outside, even though I desperately want to be up and functioning at a decent hour.

That early morning time– before my little is awake and my husband has headed off for work– is one of my favorite times of day.  The house is quiet and Darren and I have a chance to spend a little alone time together before we go our separate ways.ma

Generally, those days start with a good cup of coffee and whatever pastry I’ve whipped up.

It’s fall, so those flavors are naturally beginning to turn towards the signature tastes of the season– most notably pumpkin.  Now, I will admit that I had never really tried pumpkin prior to this year.  Don’t shame me too much.  I just didn’t think it was for me.  Wow, was I wrong!  I’ve began to appreciate the flavor more than I thought possible, so I’ve started to incorporate it into some things we already know and love– you know, to take the flavor up a notch.

Our coffee maker has been on the fritz lately, and while we decide what we want to do {try to fix it or replace it… and if so, with what} I picked up a box of Taster’s Choice Instant Coffee.  I was definitely concerned about drinking instant coffee.  I figured there was no way it could actually be that good.  But it really did taste great– much, much better than I had anticipated!

Plus, when paired with a seasonal favorite– Coffee-mate Pumpkin Spice Powdered Coffee Creamer– it tastes better than ever!

I’ve only recently began to see all the advantages to using a powdered creamer.  We tend to buy several flavors of creamer at once.  If we purchase liquid creamers, they can often spoil and go bad before we use them up.  Powdered creamer has a longer shelf life, meaning it’s more susceptible to keep several flavors on hand at once.

Plus, I’ve found that it’s really easy to incorporate Coffee-mate Pumpkin Spice Powdered Coffee Creamer into some of my favorite recipes.  Most recently, I’ve used it to add some flavor to one of my favorite breakfast pastries– mini cinnamon rolls.

Mini Cinnamon Rolls with Pumpkin Spice Glaze

Ingredients:

  • Tube of your favorite crescent rolls
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • Light brown sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp. Maple Syrup {not the fake stuff}
  • 2 tsp. Coffee-mate Pumpkin Spice Powdered Coffee Creamer
  • 1 tbsp. milk

Start by preheating your oven to the temperature indicated on the tube of crescent rolls.

Grease a mini muffin pan and set aside.  Proceed to unroll those crescent rolls.  There should be 4 sets of two triangles that are shaped like rectangles.  Set two sets together {4 triangles total} long sides touching and smoosh the seams together to make a big rectangle.  Use a rolling pin or your hands to flatten the dough to about 1/4″ thick.  Repeat with the remaining dough.  You should have two pieces of rectangular shaped dough now.

Take one and brush 1/2 of the melted butter on top– about 1 tbsp. of butter.  Then, generously sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar on top.  There’s no set amount.  Just whatever you like!  Carefully roll up the dough into a log, starting on one of the longer sides.  Slice your log into 8 even pieces and place each piece into a cavity in your muffin pan.  Repeat with the remaining dough.

Cook for about a minute less than the package directions.  This should be around 10-11 minutes.

While the rolls are cooking, you can whip up the glaze.  Add the powdered sugar, milk, and maple syrup to a bowl.  Mix in the pumpkin spice creamer as well.  Mix until a delicious glaze forms.  Taste the glaze and see if the pumpkin flavor is to your liking.  You MAY want to add slightly more {that’s what I do!}.  Add gradually though– a little goes a long way.

When the cinnamon rolls are done, use a spoon to pour glaze over the top.  I recommend removing them from the pan first for clean-up purposes.

Nescafe Tasters Choice Coffee, Nestle Coffee Mate – Pumpkin Spice, and Cinnamon Rolls – now that is a great way to start your day – not to mention a great and delicious way to wake up your taste buds.

Nescafe is so good! Since I won a Keurig in June I’ve been drinking my hazelnut coffee with hazelnut creamer. I also love Nescafe Hazelnut coffee. Those cinnamon buns look delish :) My sister likes the Pumpkin Spice Coffee-mate creamer, me not so much. I’m sticking with my hazelnut :)
