Y’all… I have a big pet peeve– Giving a gift that requires batteries without the batteries.

I’ll give you an example.  For Raileigh’s birthday, she got this awesome gift that she was totally excited about.  But, it required TWO 9 Volt batteries– not something I just keep lying around my house.  That was 7 weeks ago and that awesome toy just got outfitted with batteries.  It’s not because I didn’t want her to play with it– I simply couldn’t seem to remember the batteries anytime I went to the store.

This last trip to the store I made a point to remember those batteries– we’re talking a list and multiple reminders to ensure that I walked out the door of Walmart with batteries in hand.

In addition to now having a functioning toy, I’m going to get a $10 Walmart gift card in the mail… JUST for buying something I needed.

You see, the infamous Energizer Bunny is turning TWENTY-FIVE!

To celebrate, Energizer Max and Walmart have teamed up to offer an awesome promotion.  At Walmart, you’ll find specially marked packages of Energizer Max batteries.  They’re easy to spot– I found lots of signage both on the battery displays at the front of the store as well as end caps throughout the store.  Plus, the battery packages themselves have a blue promotional square on the front.

If you buy two of these specially marked packages, you’ll receive a $10 Walmart gift card.  That little blue promotional square on the package will tell you everything you need to do to claim your gift card.  You will need your receipt, so don’t throw that away.

This is the perfect time to stock on batteries for the holiday season.  Check out the gifts you’re giving, what batteries they require, and head to Walmart to stock up.  You do not want to be one of the hundreds of parents hitting whatever store is open on Christmas day to pay double the normal price for batteries just so little Johnny or Susie can play with their gift.  Be smart, buy now, and get a gift card for doing so.

Speaking of gift cards… what will you do with the $10 gift card you get?  I’ll admit– gift cards make me very happy.  I feel like I’m spending someone else’s money and that always feels nice.  I’ll probably just put my gift card towards groceries… but I’ll probably throw in an extra bag of chocolate chips.

Once again– Happy Birthday, Energizer Bunny.  Thank you for making awesome batteries that keep my family going and going.
