The Croods is a comedy adventure that follows the world’s first modern family as they embark on a journey of a lifetime when the cave that has always been their home is destroyed. Traveling across a spectacular landscape, the Croods are rocked by generational clashes and seismic shifts as they discover an incredible new world filled with fantastic creatures — and their outlook is changed forever.

Let me just say– we are really, really excited for the debut of The Croods next week.  With lots of humor, stunning graphics, and a lot of heart, this is sure to be a title that my whole family will enjoy.  Plus, with an all-star studded cast like this, you really cannot go wrong.

We’re not the only ones excited about this release— Fox is as well.  They’ve sent us some awesome activities to help get ready for the The Croods and I wanted to share them with all of you. crafts_doorhangers_1 crafts_doorhangers_2 First up, we have some super cute DOOR HANGERS.  Y’all– Raileigh is kind of obsessed with door hangers.  She LOVES to have one on her door at all times.  These new ones, featuring our favorite characters from The Croods, have definitely been a hit in my house.  “Girls Only” is our favorite, but we’ve had a lot of fun with “Dangerous Creatures Inside” as well.

These door hangers will print easily on your home printer.  I recommend printing on cardstock to make them a bit sturdier.  Then, print along the dashed lines and you’ll have a fun addition to any door.

crafts_frames_1 crafts_frames_2 Then we’ve got these super fun and versatile printable picture frames.  One features The Croods family and the other features creatures seen in the movie.  Again, I recommend printing on cardstock or some other type of thicker paper to help make the frame more sturdy.

Wondering what to do with these cute frames?  A few ideas I’ve had:

  • Use the creatures frame to put around a picture of your child acting like their favorite creature
  • Print the family frame and leave the white inside.  Your child can draw a picture of your family!
  • Print the creatures frame and leave the white inside.  Your child can draw their favorite picture from the movie.
  • Print the creatures frame and cut it out– including the white inside.  Add a tongue depresser or large stick to the bottom to give it a “handle” of sorts.  Then take walk outside, looking for creatures {birds, bugs, etc.}  When you find one, “frame” it with your cool creatures frame.
  • Use the family frame to put around a picture of your family.

Now… for some really exciting news.  In celebration of the release, I actually have a copy of The Croods to send to one of you!  This will be the Blu-Ray and includes an adorable plush toy of Belt– the lovable pet sloth from the movie.  This plush will be available as part of special select packaging when the movie is released and will only be available in limited quantities.
