Making Eyes POP in Photoshop Elements!

On my very first day of having Photoshop Elements 11… I was overwhelmed with all of the fun tricks that you can do to manipulate your photos. After hours and hours of trying to do things that were WAY too complicated for a first-time user… I decided to practice making eyes POP.

Learning how to make eyes POP really helped me feel confident to move on to more advanced Photoshop tricks {although, not MUCH more advanced}. Even though I did not create this action or develop this method for making eyes POP — I wanted to bring it to your attention and show a couple examples on how well it worked for me!

Although the changes in my eyes in both of these photos are very subtle… I feel as though they make a huge difference in the overall quality of the photos.

Before I tell you how I did this, I want to preface it by saying that I am not a Photoshop genius that came up with an incredibly complicated way of making eyes “pop”. The solution is actually incredibly simple – I downloaded an action and applied it to my photo!

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Open the photo that you want to edit in Photoshop Elements.
  • Go to the CoffeeShop blog and download the free Eye Brights action. {The CoffeeShop blog is absolutely incredible for all things Photoshop!}
  • Follow this tutorial on how to apply the action to your photo. {With most free downloadable actions that are on The CoffeeShop Blog, she has SUPER detailed tutorials on how to use them — which is great and extremely helpful!}

SO — although I am taking ZERO credit for how I came to be confident on making eyes “pop” in Photoshop — I thought it would be nice to share here at Wee Share so that any newbies out there can find their way to a GREAT Photoshop resource {i.e. The CoffeeShop Blog}

Hope y’all enjoyed!
