DIY Picture Frame Key Holder {Tutorial}

DIY Picture Frame Key Holder {Tutorial}

Kevin and I are absolutely HORRIBLE about misplacing our keys. It seems like each and every time that we need to leave the house… we are frantically searching EVERYWHERE for them! So — I decided to get a little crafty and make a special home for our keys to live in!

DIY Picture Frame Key Holder {Tutorial}

  • Wooden Picture Frame {I got mine for $7.50 at Hobby Lobby}
  • Black Metal Hooks {I got mine from the Home Depot}
  • Screw Driver
  • Hammer
  • Level
  • Black Sharpie
  • Cute picture to put in the frame {I made mine on the Silhouette Software — but any type of photo/picture would look great!}

  • Line up your metal hooks to the outside sides of your frame. Use a pencil to mark where your screws will be.
  • Use your level to make sure that your markings are level and even.
  • Using your hammer and screw, hammer a small indention to start your screws. {This will make it easier to screw the hardware into the wood without having to use an electric screw driver}
  • Put the metal hook on the frame and use your screw driver to connect it to the frame.
  • If you used silver screws, take your sharpie and color them black to match the rest of the frame.
  • Once both of your hooks are secure on your frame, simply put your picture/photo in the frame and hang it on the wall!
