2012 Wedding Event Update: Our Guest Quilt FINISHED!

Kevin and I got married on July 27, 2012. For our wedding, we wanted to have our guests do something a little different from the traditional guest book. Since I absolutely love to quilt, we thought it would be special if we had all of our guests sign quilt squares in order to make a guest quilt! I spent {alot} of time choosing which fabrics I thought would look the best in our quilt. In case you did not follow along the 2012 Wedding Event here at Wee Share… our color scheme was pink and gray. I chose to primarily use the Michael Miller wedding collection for our guest quilt.

Fabrics Used

We had a table set up that had fabric pens and quilt squares for the guests to sign at their leisure. After the guests signed a quilt square, they would put it into a basket. This worked out fantastic! Our guests had a blast signing the squares. Some guests {like my brother-in-law and my husband’s friends}… had a lot of fun signing the squares! No matter how silly some of the signatures are… it makes for a great laugh and funny memories that Kevin and I will look back on and cherish forever.

Guest Quilt Table

Over a year after our wedding, I have FINALLY finished our quilt! Typically, it does not take me this long to do a quilt. However, my Etsy shop has taken off… I’m in school… and I’ve been taking my time to do the best job that I possibly can!

Guest Quilt Collage

I am SO excited and in love with our guest quilt. It is a project that Kevin and I will hold on to for FOREVER! It is slightly larger than a king size {HUGE} — and a perfect balance of elegance and fun. I hope you’ve enjoyed!!

My fiance and I love what you did with your guest quilt. We are having the same thing for our wedding. Where did you find or what did you use for the instructions for the borders and sizes for the squares? Thanks.

That is beautiful! You did a lovely job. Those are my favorite colors also. I’m working on one for my stepdaughter from her wedding (too long ago).

You did a beautiful job! My sister did this for my other sister’s baby shower and then by the time she had baby hannah the quilt was done. My sister makes beautiful quilts. My daughter’s getting married in 2015 so I’m hoping she’ll do this as a wedding gift for them. So much love goes into making a quilt and as you said you guys will always have the memories of your wedding. You’re so talented and blessed 🙂

Thank you so much!! I DO do custom work!! I would love to make one out of your sweet little Scarlette’s clothes! I’m not starting any new projects until after Brooklynn arrives – as quilting is getting rather challenging with this gigantic belly! But after she gets here — I’d love to do a custom quilt for you!! 🙂
