Real Brewed Tea from Pure Leaf {Review}

Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Pure Leaf. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

If you’re from the South or if you’ve ever been to the South, then you know that sweet tea is sacred.  Sweet tea is readily available in any restaurant that you visit and many Southern families keep fresh brewed tea in their refrigerator at home.

I might have my Southerner card revoked for this— but I cannot stand sweet tea.

There.  I said it.  I despise sweet tea.  Okay, I actually don’t like any tea whatsoever.

However, my husband loves sweet tea.  It’s one of his absolute favorite things to drink.  When we got married, he requested that I make him some sweet tea.  I’ll be honest- I had no idea where to even start!  I found out what kind of tea bags his mother had used at home and I followed the directions on the side of the box.

The results were less than stellar.  Over time, I worked on the ratio of sugar to tea to try and find that perfect balance that my husband enjoys.  It’s difficult since I don’t like sweet tea myself.  There is no way I am going to taste test any of the batches that I make!

I have gotten better as the years have passed, but I still feel as if my sweet tea is very hit and miss.

That’s why I was thrilled to hear about Pure Leaf Iced Tea– real brewed tea with a fresh brewed taste that is conveniently sold in ready-to-drink bottles.  Pure Leaf is only made from the finest all-natural ingredients and absolutely no preservatives.  In short, they have found the perfect balance of aroma, body, and flavor- something I have fallen short of for many years.

Pure Leaf’s tea starts with tea leaves that are hand-selected by Pure Leaf’s Master Tea Blenders.  They are actually certified by the Rainforest Alliance for sourcing tea sustainably.  These leaves are picked and their peak and turned into the multiple varieties of tea that Pure Leaf has to offer.

My husband had the opportunity to try five of the flavors.

Since my husband’s favorite tea variety is sweet tea, he was naturally most excited to check out the Sweetened Iced Tea from Pure Leaf.  I’ll admit– I was a bit nervous for him to try it.  He’s had pre-bottled tea in the past and very few of the options have tasted good to him.  However, I approached our little taste test with an open mind.

I am so glad that I did.

While my husband says that he still prefers my tea {aaawww…. probably just being a sweet, complimenting husband} he did like the Sweetened Iced Tea from Pure Leaf.  This is significant because it’s the first pre-bottled tea that he hasn’t completely turned his nose up at!

He did say that he could tell that even though it’s fresh brewed, it wasn’t fresh brewed that day.  He also said there seemed to be a slight lemon taste in the tea {he’s on of few sweet tea drinkers I know that doesn’t ask for a lemon wedge with their tea}.  However, overall he did like the tea.  He drank a glass and actually asked for the rest with dinner.  I was impressed.

There is an extra sweet option that I want to pick up next time I am grocery shopping.  I think he’s going to like that one even more!

Pure Leaf also offers a Carafe Size that is 59 oz. and is available in four flavors.  After seeing my husband’s reaction, I might pick up a few for our next get-together.

Make sure to connect with Pure Leaf for new flavor announcements and locations where you can find their pre-bottled tea:
