Reading is a gateway to so many positive things.
Raileigh learns from reading. Even with the story is a work of fiction, she is picking up new vocabulary and learning about various writing styles. It also exposes her to a variety of people, often times who have very different lives from her.
Reading also sparks creativity and imagination. On countless occasions, I have listened to stories or songs that were inspired by something she read. It encourages new ideas to form and fills the mind with limitless possibilities.
In short, I think reading is amazing.

Recently, I got to share one of these special stories with my little bookworm. I chose I Love You More by Laura Duksta because “I Love You More” is a phrase that you constantly hear in our home. Because of this, I thought it would be an extra special title to present to my daughter.
I planned on presenting this special book to her one night at bedtime. But, you know what they say about the best laid plans… It didn’t happen. I had hidden the book, but apparently not well enough. One day, I discovered Raileigh reading it to herself with biggest smile on her face. So much for that surprise.
However, that did not diminish the complete awesomeness of this book. The illustrations are vibrant, yet soft– almost like a watercolor painting. The text is simple, yet special, with a nice flowing rhyme and rhythm. It makes it an easy read, even for the youngest little ones.
One thing that makes this book really unique is that it is a flip story. Meaning that it is actually two stories in one book! Depending on which cover you begin reading at, you’ll be treated to a delightful tale of love between a mother and daughter. The stories meet in the middle of the book, with a special two-page spread that serves as the end to both stories.
The quality of this personalized book is incredible and I know that it will hold up to many future readings. I look forward to sharing this story with my daughter time and time again.
I encourage you to check out the wonderful selection of titles available at Put Me In The Story. There is surely a title that is perfect for every little one.
