For as long as I can remember, Raileigh has truly loved to have her nails painted. I will admit, though– I was hesitant to put that first coat of paint on her little nails. After all– have you ever looked at what is actually in a bottle of nail polish? Mostly stuff that I cannot even pronounce. Plus, I have seen the effects of long term use on my own nails, and that just isn’t something I desire for my precious little one.
Then, I discovered Piggy Paint. Piggy Paint features a cute little piggy on the bottle and looks like any old bottle of nail polish. However, this “natural as mud” nail polish is so much more. It actually contains none of those harmful chemicals such as formaldehyde and ethyl acetate. It’s non-toxic and water based. It’s also virtually odorless and is hypoallergenic as well, making it completely safe for your children to use.
Plus, Piggy Paint features the most adorable and fun names for each of their polish colors– Pocket Full of Posies, Solar Power, and Ice Cream Dream… just to name a few!
Recently, we added some new colors to our growing collection of Piggy Paint. Raileigh was thrilled to have even more options when it comes to painting her nails.
The very day it arrived, we had a mini Mommy-Daughter spa night. I set up all of the polishes, some of the Piggy Paint remover, and all the other supplies we would need.
I let Raileigh choose what color she wanted to paint her nails. But, she didn’t just choose one color– she chose TEN! Yep– one color for each of her little toes. We also went ahead and painted her fingernails this way as well. She can actually tell you the name of each polish that we used when looking at her nails– she has a crazy good memory!
We’ve actually painted her nails like this several times over the past few weeks. She takes gymnastics and plays with building blocks often, so she is kind of rough on them. I’ll share the steps we use to help her nails looks their best and be as chip-resistant as possible:
- Apply coat of desired Piggy Paint color
- Let air-dry briefly
- Use a blow dryer on low setting to heat-set nails for about 1 minute
- Repeat two or three times for best results
Piggy Paint also offers a Base coat and Topcoat that add extra chip and scratch resistance.
We’re truly smitten with Piggy Paint. I will even admit to using it on my own toes as well. Since it’s natural, Piggy Paint is safe for everyone.
The polishes are available in select Walmart stores and you can also order online. If you’d like to place an online order, you can actually get 15% off through the end of April simply by entering the code PiggyFun at checkout!
