WIN $1,000 to Jo-Ann in the Create With 8 Contest!

If there is one thing I miss here in South Carolina… it is Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores.

Sure, they have one a few hours from my home, but it’s nothing like having my favorite craft store 10 minutes down the road!

However, I recently found out that Jo-Ann is coming to Summerville!  That’s right– my quaint little town is getting a craft store!  To say that I am excited would be a big understatement.

While I am steadily watching the progress and waiting for my favorite store to open here, I wanted to share an awesome contest with all of you.

Jo-Ann launched the Create With 8 Facebook Contest as a part of the Creativity Made Simple Mission.  The goal is to help Americans rediscover creativity.

So… how does it work?

Well, participants use 8 materials of your choice to create a fun and simple project.  There are 20 different materials to choose from:

  • Acrylic Paint
  • Cork rolls or tiles
  • Floral stem or bush
  • Ready-Made frame
  • Felt on the roll OR pre-cut squares
  • Craft designer mask
  • Glitter
  • Polymer clay
  • Wooden beads
  • Chenille stems
  • Kids craft foam sheets
  • Scrapbooking embellishments/ stickers
  • Ribbon
  • Buttons
  • Netting OR tulle
  • Styrofoam
  • Unfinished wood shapes/ letters
  • Wiggle Eyes
  • Yarn

Your craft has to include eight of these items.  It cannot include any additional items, other than something that holds them together {glue, tape, wire, or other adhesive}.

Once your project is complete, head to the Jo-Ann website or the Jo-Ann Facebook page to submit it.

There are two ways to win and $1,000 in Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts Stores gift cards is up for grabs! A panel of Jo-Ann expert judges selects two winners and two winners are also selected by voters on Facebook.

Entries are being accepted through March 31, so you’ve got less than 2 weeks to get those amazing projects together!

To help get you going, I have a 40% off coupon to share with you.  It’s good for 40% savings off the regular price of one item, and is good online and in store {some exclusions apply}.

What are you waiting for?  Start creating!

Disclosure:  I received no compensation for this post.  I just love Jo-Ann and I love the idea of this contest, so I decided to share it with all of you!
