Tyson & Prego Team Up to Make a TASTY Meal! {With Recipe}

I really enjoy cooking.  There is something incredibly satisfying about preparing a meal that your family really, truly enjoys eating.

That being said, there are nights when I simply don’t have a lot of time to cook family meals.  I need recipes that are quick and easy and that use ingredients I tend to always have on hand.

This past week has been an especially busy one.  Between multiple visits to several doctors, a trip to the repair shop for our car, a brief visit from out of town family, and all the normal hustle and bustle that comes with life, I am completely worn out.

However, my family still has to eat!

So, on the first day of Spring, Raileigh and I headed to our local Sam’s Club.  Can I just say that I LOVE Sam’s Club.  It’s kind of like a toy store for adults.  They have so many awesome products, some of which I had no idea even existed.  Even if I don’t need anything, it’s always fun to browse.

Plus, lunch time or weekend visits often result in running into demo carts throughout Sam’s Club.  On this particular visit, we sampled chocolate covered strawberries, stuffed chicken, fish, and pita chips with hummus.  I often feel full after a round of sampling!

As we were wondering the aisles, inspiration hit me:

I saw the oh-so-delicious picture of the side of a Prego display.  It looked to be chicken parmesan, which just happens to be one of my favorite dishes… yet one I have never prepared at home!  I noticed the Tyson logo on the side of the box and something just clicked– I could easily recreate the dish pictured using my favorite sauce {Prego} and my favorite chicken {Tyson}.

Simple enough!  I had noodles and some Parmesan cheese at home, so I gathered everything else I would need: Tyson Chicken, Prego Traditional Sauce, and some mozzarella cheese. {You can view my entire shopping trip over on Google+}.

Let me just say– the dish was incredible!  Easy and tasty, which is a huge bonus in my book.  Just in case you’re interested in recreating it with your family, here is the recipe for you:

Chicken Parmesan

  • 10 oz. – 14 oz. of Tyson Breaded Chicken {I used tenderloins, but any size would be fine}
  • 28 oz. Prego Traditional Spaghetti Sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded Mozzerella Cheese
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Noodles {spaghetti or fettuccine}

1.  Bake chicken as directed until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.  If using the Tyson Breaded Chicken Breast Tenderloins as I did, this took 20-25 minutes in a 450 degree oven.

2.  Meanwhile, prepare your noodles according to the package directions.  Drain.

3.  Before the chicken is ready to be removed from the oven, you’ll want to heat the Prego Traditional Spaghetto Sauce as well.  I did this in a medium sized sauce pan over medium heat.  I also made sure to use a lid because sauce likes to bubble!

4.  Once everything is finished, put a nice pile of noodles on your plate.  Place the chicken on top.  Spoon some of the sauce over your chicken and noodles.  Top with mozzerella and parmesan cheeses.

5.  Enjoy!

I have a feeling this meal is going to become a staple in our house.  You just cannot beat the simplicity and the taste.

It’s also a great “starter” recipe.  Meaning, you can always add additional tastes to suit your family.  A little fresh garlic or some garlic powder would be delicious when added to the sauce.  You can also use grated Romano cheese instead of Parmesan if you prefer.  The options are endless!
