It’s that time of year. Spring is beginning to make an appearance and baseball is just around the corner.
Growing up just outside of Atlanta, I could not help but become a fan of baseball. After all, I had America’s team– the Atlanta Braves– located just a short drive down the interstate.
Then, a few years ago, baseball inched a bit closer when a minor league team moved to my little section of suburbia. On April 4, the Gwinnett Braves will open their 5th season at Coolray Field.
You don’t have to wait an entire month to enjoy some baseball at this beautiful stadium, though!
On March 8 and 9, Coolray Field will be hosting the High School Showcase, a two-day event that highlights ten of the best high school teams in the area.
Ten teams may sound like a lot. However, the Gwinnett Braves are located in a county that has the largest school system in the state of Georgia, and is the 14th largest in the country. There are 19 public high schools in Gwinnett County alone, plus private schools as well.
During the High School Showcase, the best high school teams from Gwinnett county as well as other surrounding counties will come together to face-off against each other.
Check out the line-up:
This showcase would be the perfect weekend event for the family. Two-day tickets can be purchased for just $15, while adult tickets are $10 and student tickets with ID are $5. For more information about the event or how to get tickets, contact the Coolray Field Box Office at 678-277-0340 or visit gwinnettbraves.com.
