Dreamwork’s The Croods {review}

In theatres March 22nd, 2013

Let me start by saying that Anakin has been looking forward to this movie for months!  I definitely couldn’t turn up the opportunity to see this with my family and let all of you know how cute it was!

My family loves movies, and we love computer animated films so we are especially excited when the two are combined with an all-star cast like in The Croods.  Nicholas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, and Catherine Keener all deliver in this witty story about one of the first families on earth and their exploration of the new world as it changes both geographically and emotionally.

As with most animated films, the “story” is usually between the lines.  Although the plot is about a family trying to survive the constantly changing world, it illustrates to children the need for new ideas, the value of family, and the hope for tomorrow.  Coupled with beautiful graphics and great comedic relief, the movie does a great job of telling the story, engaging the audience, and communicating the deeper meaning.

I totally want a pet sloth now.

If you get a chance to take your kids to see this, it is totally worth seeing.  The humor was very clean (and hilarious), the story was entertaining, and the movie was downright fun!

The Croods will be in theatres on March 22, 2013!
