Cookie’s Kids– Beautiful Spring Styles for Your Kids {Review}

Spring is just around the corner.  Our days are filled with sunshine and slightly chilly air.  To me, it’s the absolute perfect kind of weather.

With Spring, comes one of the most beautiful holidays of all– Easter.  It’s a time to celebrate an event very important to our faith, as well as hunt eggs and eat lots of delicious treats.

Of course, such a day calls for a very special dress.

That’s where Cookie’s Kids comes in.

This is a VERY big year for Cookie’s Kids– they are celebrating 40 years in business! In 1972, a young man named Cookie and his brother Marvin went into business together. They rented a 1600 square foot store in Jamaica, Queens, fixed it up, bought inventory and Summer and Fall, and opened a day after Thanksgiving with a full stock of holiday toys. The toys were a success and they put the extra money toward buying children’s clothing for the next season. When that did well, they bought more clothing. The business was on it’s way. By the late 1990’s there were six superstores throughout the NYC area, and though they previously had different names, by that time they were all named Cookie’s Kids.

CookiesKids.com opened in 2007, giving all of us not located in New York access to the amazing selection of children’s clothing that Cookie’s Kids is known for carrying.  With a full range of Girls Dresses and Boys Suits, it’s easy to find the perfect clothing for this special holiday.

I browsed the selection of dresses with my daughter right alongside me.  After all,if she doesn’t like the dress, she simply isn’t going to wear it.  So, I let her have a lot of say in what clothing she wears.  Raileigh chose her three favorite dresses from the Cookie’s Kids website:

Of course, I knew that she would look stunning in every single one.  I was having a hard time deciding which dress would become her Easter dress.  So, I sent him a link to each dress and he quickly chose the one he liked best.

I was then able to use this awesome feature on the Cookie’s Kids website called Alva Kids.  It’s a new feature that allows you to enter information about your child, including height and weight, to find the correct clothing size to order.  This is a fantastic feature, considering how every clothing brand tends to fit just a bit differently.  You’ll find the Alva Kids icon right around the order button and description, so it’s convenient to check sizes on any article of clothing you want to order.

Just because I couldn’t resist… I decide to throw in a little something extra for my daughter as well.  I spied these darling Princess and the Frog undies, and knew that she would LOVE them.  I originally intended for them to be a part of her Easter basket, but when they arrived I decided to go ahead and give them to her.

Our order shipped rather quickly, and before I knew it the package had arrived here in South Carolina.

The dress was even more beautiful in person.  The turquoise color {which Raileigh has deemed her new favorite color} is even more vivid and beautiful in person.  The little “leaves” around the bottom of the dress add this fun extra dimension to it.

So… the dress clearly looks beautiful, but how does it fit?  Perfectly!  Honestly, it looks as if this dress was made with Raileigh in mind.  The bodice hugs her torso and closes with a zipper in the back.  There is a wide fabric tie that makes a bow in the back.  The skirt of the dress is full, thanks to some extra layers underneath the top fabric of the dress.

We’ve got multiple options on how to complete the look as well.  If we’re fortunate enough to have warm, sunny weather on Easter, we can add a simple pair of sandals for her to wear.  If the weather is cool, we’ll go with boots and a light sweater.  That’s another thing that I love about this dress– it’s versatile!

Thanks to Cookie’s Kids, our Easter Outfits are done!  Now,we’ve just got to wait for the special day to arrive.
