Share Breakfast with Kellogg’s and Give a Meal to a Child in Need

When I think of America and all of the liberties that we have, the word “abundance” quickly comes to mind.  However, did you know that 1 out of every 5 children in this country goes without breakfast each day?

Growing up, I am fortunate that this is an issue that I never had to face.  Yes, money was tight at times, but my mother always made sure that there was something available to eat each morning.  Sure, I missed breakfast every once in a while {most likely due to me not waking up on time}, but it was never a consistent thing like it is for many children.

Can you imagine going without breakfast every day?  Whenever I do miss breakfast, I can always tell.  I never feel as good.  It’s easy to get lightheaded due to lack of nutrients, and my energy level isn’t as high, either.  Plus, going without breakfast makes it incredibly hard to focus.  I always feel a lot better and can preform better with something in my stomach.

For children, this would be especially hard.  Sitting in school on an empty stomach would make it difficult to comprehend the information and knowledge needed to succeed.

That is why I am so incredibly excited about a new initiative to help children get breakfast each day. Celebrity dad and actor Taye Diggs has partnered with Kellogg’s to share breakfast with children in need as part of the third consecutive Share Breakfast initiative.

The goal of this initiative is to get 1 MILLION breakfasts for children so that they can get the start they deserve each day.  One of the best parts is that you can help make this a reality! Every time you do one of the following, Kellogg’s will share breakfast to a kid who might otherwise go without:

1. Share the public service announcement with friends.
2. Like or comment on the Share Breakfast Facebook page.
3. Pin the public service announcement on Pinterest.
4. Tweet about Share Breakfast #sharebreakfast

It’s easy to share and get your friends in on the action as well by visiting the Share Breakfast website.

Additionally, Diggs and Kellogg’s have gotten together in-school breakfast partner Action For Healthy Kids, making it their mission to show families how a wholesome breakfast can help kids reach their full potential every day. Kids who eat breakfast have more energy and focus for learning. That’s why Kellogg’s and Diggs are leading the charge to help end childhood hunger and are rallying families across the U.S. to help provide breakfast for kids in need.

Will you help?

Truly, it is so easy to Share Breakfast and provide a child with a great start to the day.  It won’t cost you a penny and will only take a few seconds of your time.

Together, we can help to give 1 million meals to children, thanks to this amazing initiative.

Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kellogg’s. I received a product sample as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.
