Going to Disney World? Check out these Apps for Android!

I am already deep into planning our next trip to Disney World... and it is still a little less than 7 months away!

Regardless, I am making decisions about which character meals we want to book, speculating about which characters we'll meet, and adding Disney-themed apps to my Android phone.

That's right-- there are some super awesome apps that are sure to add an extra touch of magic to your Walt Disney World vacation.  The best part is that every app I have listed won't cost you a dime.  And, of course, there are more more available than I am listing here!

Disney Mobile Magic is the official app of Disney Parks.  Quite simply, by using your phone's GPS location services to map exactly where you are, this app can help you to get the very most out of your Disney vacation.

Here are just a few of the perks of Disney Mobile Magic

  • Approximate wait times for attractions, as well as Fast Pass return times for the park you're in
  • Play Trivia {excellent for when you're bored while waiting in line}
  • Watch videos on select attractions
  • Detailed information on attractions, including height requirements, location, and photos
  • Interactive GPS Guide Maps
  • User Character Finder to locate meet and greet locations for your favorite Disney friends
  • Check restaurant menus and hours, and even make dining reservations directly from your phone
  • Plan a future perfect vacation by marking favorite attractions and dining spots

I always research park hours before we leave home.  I like to plan out each day beforehand, taking in to account things such as Extra Magic Hours, to help us optimize our time at Walt Disney World.

However, it never fails that plans don't go exactly as... well... planned.  If that happens, or if you don't want to or don't have time to plan each day in advance, the Disney World Park Hours app can come in quite handy.

This app details the hours of each park, including water parks, up to 6 months before the date actually occurs.  This means that not only can you utilize this app while in the parks, you can actually use it to help plan your vacation as well!

It addition to park hours, you'll find time-specific events occurring in each park such as parades and shows.  You'll also find the Extra Magic Hours schedule, including which attractions are open during these times.

Radio Disney is the official Radio Disney app.  It enables you to listen to Radio Disney all day, every day.  Could there be a better way to get you excited about your upcoming vacation?

From the app you can request a song, send shout-outs, see recently played songs {perfect in case you liked the song, but didn't know what it was}, and add songs to your "favorites" list.

This app is just downright fun.  For a hobby photographer like me, who cannot go anywhere without taking a zillion pictures, it is the perfect Disney app.

Using a photo from your phone's camera roll or one that you take in the app, you can easily add a fun Disney-themed frame to your memory!  You can even unlock extra magic, such as stickers {including some very iconic hats!} to add to your photos.

The pictures can then be shared via message on your phone and across various social media channels.

I actually used this on our last trip to Walt Disney World.  This vacation countdown is not actually an app, but a widget that you can use on your phone.  It can easily be installed on any page of your phone, but I chose the home page {hey-- I was excited, and it was fun to turn my phone on and see the days tick away}.

It's simple.  There is a Mickey head with a number-- the days until you leave.  Below that it says "Days Until Disney Vacation".

Just a fun way to pass the days until you are at the most magical place on Earth.

I am curious-- are there any must-have Disney apps for Android that you use?  I would love to hear about them!

Disclosure: I am participating in the Verizon Wireless Ambassador program and have been provided with a wireless device and three months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.
