Growing up, I remember getting cavities in my teeth. Darren also had cavities. In case you’ve never experienced them– cavities are NO fun. Now that we have a daughter of our own, we strive to try and prevent cavities from occurring.
Since she was very young, we have placed an emphasis on good oral care. She visits the dentist regularly and and also practices a daily oral care routine at home.
One thing that I have found the be the most effective in establishing and maintaining this routine is to make it fun. If she enjoys brushing and flossing, then she will be more likely to do it and do it well. In our home, one way that we make oral care more enjoyable is to purchase products that feature her favorite characters. Let’s face it– a toothbrush or tube of toothpaste that have Dora the Explorer or other popular friends are more likely to be picked up and used.
The thing is that most of these character-laden items are aimed at preschool age children. What happens when your child gets a bit older and they aren’t interested in these “baby” shows anymore?
This holiday season, Colgate has the answer. They have released a line of One Direction Oral Care products! You’ll find toothbrushes, toothpaste, and even a special Colgate One Direction Holiday Pack!
These all-new products, featuring on the most popular boy bands out there, would make ideal stocking stuffers for those tweens and teens on your list. After all, most stockings seem to be filled with candy and other sweets. These fun oral care products are a great way to help ensure the tasty treats don’t cause cavities or any other issues.
I have a teenage sister who just happens to love music. Her tastes in music are definitely eclectic, but One Direction is high up on the list. I knew that she’d love using the Colgate One Direction products, so I decided to surprise her with some this Christmas. We headed to our local Walmart to search for them. You can read all about our shopping trip over on Google+.
The great thing about this One Direction holiday pack is that it has so much to offer. Inside, you’ll find toothpaste plus a battery powered toothbrush. For those of you who haven’t tried a battery powered toothbrush yet, let me take a moment to say how much I love them. My teeth just feel so much cleaner as opposed to using a manual brush.
Also in the package, you’ll find a free music download, which fits perfectly with the music-themed products. Plus, there is information on how to win tickets to the sold out tour this coming summer. Not so secretly, I am crossing my fingers that my little sister wins.
Of course, I didn’t want to only give her oral care products in her stocking. So, I picked up some other fun stocking stuffers to go along with them: super comfy socks, some deliciously scented body wash, and a few card games we can all enjoy together. She’s pretty competitive, so these games will be a lot of fun as we spend time relaxing together this Christmas.
I do want to add that if you also have younger children in your house, I happened to notice some other Colgate holiday packs as well. Think Dora the Explorer, Transformers, and others. These would make great stocking stuffers for the younger crowd.
This holiday season, as you’re filling those stockings in preparation for Christmas morning, keep the Colgate One Direction holiday packs in mind. After all, I’d rather share a smile than potential cavities!
