2012 Holiday Gift Guide- Your Santa Story {Review + Giveaway}

I still vividly remember the day when I definitely found out that there was no Santa Claus.  Sure, in the back of my head I knew that Santa didn't exist, but I wanted to keep believing for as long as I could.  Though Santa is far from being the true reason for the season, part of me still clung to the childlike belief that he was actually real.

I suppose that my mom thought I no longer believed.  Casually in conversation, she mentioned something about how she knew that I was too old for Santa, but that she wanted to be careful and keep the belief alive for my younger sister.  The words stung, as they brought a harsh reality to the surface for me.  However, I put on a fake smile and tried not to let on that my belief had just been crushed.

Perhaps it was this experience that made me want to make Santa as real as possible for Raileigh.  Sure, I know that one day she will learn the truth.  When that day comes, I hope that I can let her down as gently as possible.  For now, though, I enjoy watching her face light up at the sight of this jolly bearded man.

One way that we are keeping Santa alive for Raileigh is through Your Santa Story.

Your Santa Story is a customized, family-specific DVD that features an authentic Santa Claus, complete with a real white beard, full red costume, and a twinkle in his eye.  Santa will talk to each child in the family by name and tell whatever family story you would like. He'll talk about how the child is doing in school, with sports, piano lessons or anything else you want him to say. He can talk about how they are treating their brother or sister or how much their grandparents love them. He can even tell them that he has hidden one last gift for them because they have been so good this year...and then disclose the location!

Last Christmas, we were thrilled to be able to experience Your Santa Story firsthand.  Now, I have to admit that prior to viewing our DVD, I was concerned that it would all be a little cheesy.  Regardless, I knew that Raileigh would enjoy it, so I decided to create a customized story just for her.

We previewed the DVD prior to showing it to Raileigh on Christmas morning.  I have to say that I was completely blown away.  The Santa was incredibly realistic, and he spoke to Raileigh as if she were the only kid on his "nice" list.  Santa talked about all the things we had listed that she enjoys and is good at.  It was really, really neat!

Christmas morning rolled around and we were finally able to share Your Santa Story with Raileigh.  Her jaw literally fell open as she watched and listened to Santa speak directly to her.  When he said Raileigh's name, she gasped and shouted "Santa said MY name!".  It was such a touching and heartwarming thing to watch!

Would you like to know why I think Your Santa Story is so special?  The people behind it love Christmas-- that's obvious.  They believe in the magic and joy that surround this season.  All of that and more comes through in each and every personalized Your Santa Story.  This DVD is full of happiness and cheer and I have no doubt that your child will be just as thrilled with their story as my little girl was.

I encourage you to visit Your Santa Story and check out this truly unique experience that you can provide for your child or children.  I would love to provide Raileigh with a story every year so that I can keep her belief in Santa alive as long as possible.

This holiday season, Your Santa Story is spreading some holiday love here at Wee Share.  One lucky reader is going to win a customized Your Santa Story DVD to share with your family.
