If you’re like me, you have several spools of thread that are very close in color. It can be hard to tell which bobbin actually matches which thread… until you start sewing, that is. Then, it seems that if you chose the wrong one, it is blatantly obvious.
That is why I am so excited about a brand new product called Bobbin Blooms. This handy little accessory actually allows you to store your bobbin and thread together. This means no more mix-up as to which thread actually goes with which bobbin. It also means that you no longer have to use separate bobbin and thread storage!
Want to know exactly how Bobbin Blooms work? It is as easy as 1-2-3!
The Bobbin Blooms have definitely simplified my sewing thread and bobbin storage. They have also taken the guesswork out of pairing up similarly colored threads and bobbins. Each package of Bobbin Blooms comes with a color dot sheet that as a whole lot of color options. You should have no problem finding a dot that is similar in color to your thread. The dot is applied in the center of a bloom (making it look like a flower), allowing you to easily identify which color thread and bobbin are held in the Bobbin Bloom.
I want to note that Bobbin Blooms fit most standard thread spools. I found that they fit well on my regular sized Coats & Clark thread, but threads such as Guntermann were too skinny to fit inside a Bobbin Bloom. I hope that soon they will create Bobbin Blooms to fit these spools as well!
Bobbin Blooms are the perfect stocking stuffer or gift for your crafty friend. If you like to sew, then I highly recommend that you add them to your wish list as well. Bobbin Blooms are sold in sets of 5 and 8, and can be purchased today at the Bobbin Blooms website.
