Make Your Own Sidewalk Paint {Guest Post}

Sidewalk Paint

My kids love a paintbrush! They will snatch up a paintbrush an pretend to paint on everything around the house. So, when I heard about this super fun paint “recipe” I knew my kids would be thrilled. My neighbor recently told me a fun and easy way to create sidewalk paint. Similar to sidewalk chalk, sidewalk paint washes off easily with water but is a liquid than can be painted with a brush instead! It is a super easy “recipe” that your kids can even help you make. We made up a batch and the neighborhood kids came out from everywhere to enjoy the fun. Needless to say we had a very colorful sidewalk in our neighborhood until the next rain. Paintbrushes of all different sizes make the painting even more fun. So, mix up the paint, grab some brushes and enjoy your inner artsy self and maybe let the kids join in too! Happy painting!

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ½ cup cold water
  • Food coloring of your choice (get creative and mix some colors)

Mix together the corn starch and water in a bowl. Add as much food coloring as needed to achieve desired color. Repeat for as many colors as you wish to use. Of course if you wish to make a larger batch of paint, simply double your ingredients. I would recommend disposable bowls for mixing so the clean-up is a breeze.
