The Honeybee Dress

Let me just say– I might be addicted to the Sienna Dress pattern by Lil Blue Boo.

I have been saving old t-shirts for years with plans of upcycling them into something great. I literally have hundreds folded and organized in the closet of my craft room just waiting to have a new life.

Now that I have discovered my love of the Sienna Dress, these old tees are flying off the shelves. Darren even told me he wants to go through his shirts again and find more shirts for me to sew with. That’s music to my ears!

Our latest dress is The Honeybee Dress. It is fashioned from one single t-shirt. I won this shirt in a giveaway a while back and it was a bit too big for me. However, the design is amazing and I knew that it would one day become something else.

I followed the pattern pretty closely, with a few modifications:

  • Sleeve shortened to make more of a cap sleeve
  • Used dress size 3T with the length extended to somewhere between a 4 and 6.

She’s had enough picture taking at this point

I am incredibly smitten with this dress. It is my favorite dress that I have sewn in quite some time. What’s better is that Raileigh loves it as well. She can twirl, dance, and play comfortably in The Honeybee Dress. What more could you ask for?
