In just a few hours, we’ll be pulling out and headed for our new home just outside Charleston, SC.
It has been an eventful week, preparing the truck and the last of our things to move. First, my mom had a really sore back, and then Darren did something to his back.
Then, we realized that our traditional 26 foot Penske truck doesn’t really work for our family anymore. I think it has a lot to do with our toddler and her growing amount of oddly shaped things– Power Wheels, Sand Box, Dollhouse, Play Kitchen… Needless to say, “Make It Work” has taken on a whole new meaning for us!
Darren and his brother Kevin have been very creative at packing, and they have fit more into a small space than I think is even possible. My mom’s Jeep will be carrying her, my youngest sister, our flat screen TV, Raileigh’s bed, Power Wheels, 2 bicycles, and 2 kayaks– plus, I am sure there is something I’m leaving out! In the backseat of my car, I have a conglomeration of stuff, Raileigh’s car seat in the middle, and a child size recliner on the other side. How everything is fitting where it is, I’ll never know.
So, to my one wonderful reader in our new town of Summerville, when you see a big yellow Penske truck with a crab sand box creatively webbed onto the back, followed by several vehicles looking equally packed, you’ll know we have arrived.
If you have a minute, please pray for a safe journey for me and my family. See you in a few days!
