Recently, a new friend came to live at our house. Her name is Ally or Timmy or Shalle Rae-- it depends on how Raileigh is feeling at that moment.
Our new friend is actually the Good Earth Girl Ballerina Doll from miYim. miYim creates the most absolutely wonderful organic toys. Their purpose is two-fold. They want to enrich the imaginations of young children. Simultaneously, they strive to teach children environmental responsibility and celebrate an eco-conscious lifestyle.
Our Good Earth Girl Ballerina Doll stands 12" tall. Here are a few more details about her construction:The My Natural Ballerina is an earth friendly rag doll made from natural (unbleached, unprocessed) cotton and colored with miYim's proprietary PureWaterWash process that uses plants and minerals in soy water for the dye bath. Her pink dress, hair bow and toe shoes are sure to please dancers of all ages.
One of my favorite aspects of this doll is the packaging. One thing that I find incredibly annoying about most dolls are those tiny plastic pieces holding the doll in place within the package. They are hard to detach and just an overall big pain. However-- look at the packaging on our Good Earth Girl Ballerina Doll.
It is fabulous! The packaging is free of all the traditional little plastic pieces. Instead, there is organic and natural string holding it in place. All I had to do to free the doll was untie the string. It simply does not get any easier.
Raileigh is thrilled with the doll. She immediately began picking names out for her, which as I mentioned earlier, change frequently. She told me that the ballerina needs to practice, and started to bend her legs and twirl her all around the room. This has been the scene at our home since the doll arrived.
I made the mistake of letting Raileigh take her new friend to bed with her one night. She proceeded to make the doll dance and practice instead of going to sleep. I quickly learned that the ballerina doll meant playtime in Raileigh's eyes!I am impressed with the overall construction of the Good Earth Girl Ballerina Doll. She is going to hold up to years of hugs and love from my very affectionate daughter. She is the perfect new companion and friend who sparks hours of imaginative play.
