Top Ten {Tuesday} Odd Roadside Attractions I Want to See

Just in case you missed my first few Top Ten {Tuesday} posts, here is a little background…

I have met Amanda of Oh Amanda several times over the past year. Recently, I discovered a weekly blog series that she has actually been doing for several years now- Top Ten {Tuesday}. Well, I kind of LOVE lists and thought this sounded like a lot of fun. So, today I am joining in!

Top Ten {Tuesday}

I really like odd roadside attractions. You know- the giant piece of fruit or weird looking statue conveniently situated right along that well traveled road.

Georgia is home to several of these roadside oddities. Every time we travel down I-75 (that’s the road to Disney, in case you’re wondering) we pass by the World’s Largest Peanut in Ashburn, GA. There’s also the World’s Largest Chicken- a huge KFC sign in Marietta, GA.

There’s attractions such as this scattered all over the country and I would love to see them all. Of course, I am aware that is not going to happen. So, here’s the short list of some odd roadside attractions that are the top of my must-see list.

1. World’s Largest Lemon
Lemon Grove, CA

2. World’s Largest Hammock
Point Harbor, NC

3. Cadillac Ranch
Amarillo, TX

4. Jell-O Museum
Le Roy, NY

5. Wee’l Turtle
Dunseith, ND

6. The Big Easel
Goodland, KS

7. PEZ Museum
Burlingame, CA

8. Leaning Tower of Niles
Niles, IL

9. World’s Largest Kaleidoscope
Mount Tremper, NY

10. World’s Largest Lava Lamp
Soap Lake, WA

We’ve been to the kaleidoscope twice, and just missed the peanut on a recent road trip! My family also loves traveling to see quirky roadside attractions like these. Our blog, “Go BIG or Go Home,” chronicles what happens when our small-town family visits the “world’s largest”…whatever!

This is our review of the super psychedelic kaleidoscope: http://gobigorgohomeblog.com/580

I’ve spray-painted at the Cadillac Ranch (it’s encouraged!) and also seen The Big Easel. Would love to see the rest. Great list!

Yay! I’ve seen Cadillac Ranch and the Leaning Tower of Niles, but I’ll have to keep working to see the rest. Roadside attractions like this just fascinate me.
