Preview of The Help {opens in theaters August 12}

I admit– I can be a little behind when it comes to new movie releases. Honestly, how many parents of toddlers get to the movie theater on a regular basis?

That being said, there are a few movies set to debut this summer that I am excited about. One of those movies is The Help. Just in case you haven’t heard about this movie yet, let em tell you a little more about it.

Based on one of the most talked about books in years and a #1 New York Times best-selling phenomenon, “The Help” stars Emma Stone (“Easy A”) as Skeeter, Academy Award®–nominated Viola Davis (“Doubt”) as Aibileen and Octavia Spencer as Minny—three very different, extraordinary women in Mississippi during the 1960s, who build an unlikely friendship around a secret writing project that breaks societal rules and puts them all at risk. From their improbable alliance a remarkable sisterhood emerges, instilling all of them with the courage to transcend the lines that define them, and the realization that sometimes those lines are made to be crossed—even if it means bringing everyone in town face-to-face with the changing times. Deeply moving, filled with poignancy, humor and hope, “The Help” is a timeless and universal story about the ability to create change.

I am excited today because I have a few previews of the movie to share with you!

The trailer debuted yesterday at 7pm EST on the AOL Homepage. There was also a 90 second version that aired last night on the 20/20 Royal Wedding Special. Now, you can also see the trailer on Moviefone. Go check The Help trailer out and I think you’ll agree that this looks like one great summer movie!

I also have a few images just released from The Help.

Make sure to check out The Help on Facebook and stay up to date with any news leading up to the movie’s release.

I would love to hear what you think of the trailer and whether you plan to see The Help when it debuts August 12!

Disclosure: I received no compensation for this post. I just wanted to let you know about a great movie coming out this summer!

    I think I would like to see The Help, but being from Mississippi and a graduate from Ole Miss, I am always hesitant. A lot of movies do not portray where I grew up accurately so I hope this one will be different. I can tell you I didn’t learn about women’s societies and garden clubs until I moved to Georgia, not saying they aren’t in MS. 🙂 With this being said, I have high hopes for the movie because from what I can see, I like and agree with Skeeter.
