Callaway Gardens Farmers Market– Opens this June!

I am very excited about a recent announcement from one of our favorite family destinations- Callaway Gardens.

Starting on June 3, 2011, Callaway Gardens will be host to a weekly Farmers Market. The Callaway Gardens Farmers Market will be open every Friday through October 28, 2011 from 4pm- 7pm. The Farmers Market will be located on the East Beach and admission is free to everyone.

The Farmers Market will feature regional growers and vendors. In fact, everything sold at the Farmers Market must be grown or produced within a 150 mile radius of Callaway Gardens.

Here are the types of things that you can look forward to at the Callaway Gardens Farmers Market:

  • Natural products, including vegetables, fruit, cheeses, flowers, bedding plants, potted plants, honey, herbs, baked goods
  • Artisans and vendors with unique offerings
  • Demonstrations and kids activities

I feel that the objective of the Callaway Gardens Farmers Market is quite notable. I wanted to share with all of you exactly why they have decided to host this event throughout the coming months.

The Objective of the Callaway Gardens Farmers Market is to support the development of the local agricultural economy which will foster stewardship of our land and goodwill in our community by: providing a place for farmers/growers to sell their goods directly to consumers; assisting businesses who sell locally grown food, farm and garden related products; a place that will provide a unique shopping experience and a gather place at Callaway Gardens.
