Review & Giveaway: Sarah's Treasure Box- CLOSED

I love jewelry, especially necklaces. For a while after Raileigh was born, I didn't wear them often. She would pull on them and even try to chew on them. Since most necklaces aren't exactly made of baby friendly materials, I just stopped wearing them for a while.
She is pretty much past the phase of putting everything in sight into her mouth, so I have started wearing necklaces a lot more now. I am pretty picky about the jewelry I wear. I like my necklaces to be relatively simple, yet bold and unique. I think that the right necklace can really add a lot to an outfit.
I recently learned that Sarah of the blog On the Search for Hidden Treasure, opened her own etsy shop! Sarah's Treasure Box is filled with the most beautiful (and affordable!) glass tile pendants. Perfect for a mom like me that enjoys great jewelry on a tight budget. Before we talk about all of Sarah's creations, let's get to know her a little better first. Name and Location: Sarah's Treasure Box, Indiana
What inspired you to open your etsy shop? Many things inspired me to open my shop. I am a stay at home mom who has a HUGE passion for orphans, loves things handmade and I am a huge Etsy fan. I started my own giveaway blog due to my love of Etsy and I love the community so much that I just had to have my own shop. I found something that looked fun, learned how to do it and opened my shop. I plan on using my shop to help bring in a little money into our family, help families fundraising for adoptions and support www.reecesrainbow.org.
Where did you get your etsy shop name from? I came up with the name for my shop because the biggest thing God has taught me in life is to look for treasures in hidden places. Some of the greatest treasures on earth can be found in places people least expect them like in children with special needs. It is only because of the little treasures I have found through life that God has blessed me with this shop.
Can you tell me about the special Down Syndrome pendants that you offer? I am so excited about my Down Syndrome Awareness pendants. There is a website www.reecesrainbow.org that helps orphans with special needs find families. They first started out placing just children with down syndrome but now have kids with all kinds of special needs waiting for families. $5 of every down syndrome pendant I sell in my shop will go towards a grant fund for a special needs child waiting. There are many, many people that want to adopt special needs children but a lot of times the money gets in the way of these beautiful little treasure finding homes.
What is your favorite item that you have for sale in your shop? I have to say my favorite items are my adoption pendants because we have truly been blessed by adoption!
Apart from creating things, what do you like to do? My favorite thing to do is love on my family and fight for orphans.
Is there any craft you don’t know how to do but wish you did? I want to learn to sew really bad. Right now I don't even put buttons on but my mom is determined to teach me to sew this fall.
What are 5 words that describe you? Passionate and well I'm not real good at coming up with things about me so 1 will have to do.
Where would you most like to travel to? I would love to travel to Africa and hug those beautiful beautiful babies there that have no families.
I was very excited to be able to work with Sarah. We have both read each others blogs for a long time, so I knew this would be an exciting and special review to do. Sarah let me choose two of her pendant necklaces, and let me tell you, it was a very hard decision! Sarah offers the traditional square glass tile pendants, as well as pendants shaped like circles, ovals, rectangles, and larger squares. She also has a great selection of scrabble tile pendants. I ultimately decided on one circle pendant and one square pendant that I thought would go with many of my outfits.
Sarah is an incredibly fast shipper! The pendants traveled all the way to Georgia from Indiana in record time. I was also impressed with Sarah's beautiful packaging. Each necklace came in a little matching organza bag that would be perfect for gift giving. The square pendant I picked out is primarily pink. It has a white wishing flower with the word "wish" in script across the bottom. The circular pendant has a watercolor look, and feature pinks, purples, and blues with white design.
Each pendant came on a necklace, which I really appreciated. Many glass tile pendants are sold separate from the necklace. I really like that Sarah sells them as a package deal so that they are ready to wear upon arrival. I put the circular necklace on as soon as I retrieved it from the mailbox. Raileigh came over, touched the necklace, and said "oh, pretty!". She is a little girly girl, as I've shared in the past, so I suspect she will be trying to wear my new necklaces before long!
Both of the necklaces are very well made. Creating glass tile pendants is a craft I know absolutely nothing about, but it's still not hard to see that Sarah is very good at making them! They seem quite durable, which is a big plus when you have a toddler who likes to sneak and try and put your jewelry on! Plus, the colors that Sarah uses for all of her creations are vivid and crisp. I like that the bright colors of my new necklaces really stand out when I wear them. I think I have worn one of my new necklaces every day since they arrived!
