Review & Giveaway: Piggy Paint- CLOSED

At my house, we love doing pedicures! We don't go out and spend lots of money at the nail salon. We have fun doing them ourselves right at home. As much as I enjoy them, I think Raileigh loves them even more! Not a day goes by that Raileigh doesn't point to her toes and talk about how she likes that they are painted.
My favorite product to paint Raileigh's toes with is Piggy Paint. Before I discovered Piggy Paint, I refused to paint Raileigh's nails even though she asked time and time again. I know that traditional nail polish has lots of nasty chemicals. You can smell them as soon as you take the lid off! I have seen people's nails that were hardened and yellowed by continuous use of nail polish. I just could not subject my daughter to this at such a young age.
Once I heard about Piggy Paint, all of that changed. Piggy Paint has developed a line of nail polish that is completely safe for you and your little ones. They use a water based formula that is non-toxic and gives off an extremely low, non-offensive odor. Plus, for all those with sensitivities, Piggy Paint is hypoallergenic! I was happy to find a company that had created a product that would finally allow me to paint my daughter's toes!
Several months ago, we tried out our first bottle of Piggy Paint- Girls Rule. Raileigh sat so still as I covered her little nails in the sparkly purple polish. Once we had painted her nails that first time, there was no turning back. She wanted to have them painted from there on out!
Recently, Piggy Paint launched an all new line of polishes- Project Earth. Project Earth was designed with teenagers and older girls in mind. The names, such as LOL and The Boyfriend Blues, are geared more to that generation. The colors of the polishes- neon shades and a glow-in-the-dark color, hit on the neon trend that is so very popular right now.
The great thing about Project Earth is that these polishes are non-toxic and low odor just like the original Piggy Paint polishes! I can remember sleepovers as a teenager where we would take turns painting our nails. The room would smell so awful it could cause a headache. With Project Earth polishes, girls can give manis and pedis for hours on end and not have to worry about a build-up of harmful fumes!
Raileigh may not be a teenager, but I was definitely interested in trying out these new polishes! She has an aunt who is a teenager, and Raileigh has gotten a love of bright, neon colors from her. We received the Solar Power (neon yellow) and Radioactive (glow-in-the-dark) polishes to try out. I just knew that Raileigh was going to have a blast with these new polishes!
My mother-in-law, Raileigh's Mimi, was over about a week ago and wanted to paint Raileigh's toes for her. Raileigh kept exclaiming "yellow!" and picking up Solar Power. Her Mimi didn't like the neon yellow as much as we did, and they eventually settled on using Girls' Rule. All week, Raileigh has kept asking for the yellow, so today I gave in!
I used the wonderful Piggy Paint Nail Polish Remover to get what was left of Girls' Rule off of her toes. I like their remover because it has none of that stinky acetone in it! Plus, it can remove all polishes, not just Piggy Paint. I think it removes Piggy Paint better than it removes other polishes, but it definitely works for all of them.
Raileigh started by sitting very still as I applied Solar Power. I think she was just happy that I listened and finally painted her toes yellow! Just as Piggy Paint recommends, I applied 3 light coats (they say do 2-3) and heat set each for about 60 seconds using low heat on the blow dryer. If you don't heat set, the polish does chip easier (I learned that from experience!). Raileigh started getting really squirmy, probably because I started painting too close to bedtime. However, each layer of yellow dried really light, so I had to put multiple layers on to make the color show up well. So, please don't judge my very messy paint job!
After we had applied all the layers of Solar Power, I went back and put Radioactive on top of it. Radioactive dries clear, so you can put it on top of any other polish. Raileigh didn't know how fun this polish was when I was applying it, but I knew she would really like it once we turned the lights off at bedtime! Sure enough- she loved seeing her toes glow in the dark. Of course, we had to put her glow-in-the-dark skeleton pajamas on, too, so she was really glowing! I have a feeling I will be putting Radioactive on every time I paint her toes from now on!
In addition to Solar Power and Radioactive, Project Earth also has 4 other colors:
- Drama (neon orange)
- The Boyfriend Blues (bright blue)
- Eat Your Peace (neon green)
- LOL (neon pink)

hi im 12 years old and i always wanted to paint my nails but i didn't want to put the chemicals on my nails plus i didn't like the smell neither if i won i would be grateful and ill buy there icecreamdream and there angel kiss because there safe on me and for the environment thanks Jessica.
