Mini Monday – Father’s Day Sports Cards

Hello all! This week is Father’s Day week! Every day throughout the week I am going to be posting different cards, tags, and scrapbook layouts all relating to Father’s Day. I thought that this would be a great opportunity to make my own father some nice paper crafts… and to give you some ideas for your own projects!

Today on Mini Monday I have created some very simple sports cards. These mini cards would be the perfect addition to any gift for dad, granddad, or even kids who love sports! For all four of these cards I used the Sports Mania Cricut Cartridge.

Football Mini Card

Measurements for cuts: 3 1/2 for all cuts for the football. This image is found on page 60 of the Sports Mania handbook.

Paper for cuts:

  • “Football Leather” paper by Reminisce for the front part of the football. (football)
  • White Cardstock for the laces. *Black out* (football)
  • Red Cardstock for shadow behind the football. *Shadow* (football)
  • Green Cardstock for the actual card.
  • **** For the actual card I did not use my Cricut. I folded a piece of paper and placed the football on the folded edge. I traced around the football and manually cut out the football card. I did this for all of the cards.
The Reminisce paper actually feels like football leather!
Basketball Mini Card

Measurements for cuts: 3 1/2 for all cuts for the basketball. This image is found on page 54 of the Sports Mania handbook.

Paper for cuts:

  • “Basketball Leather” paper by Reminisce for the front part of the basketball. (bsktball)
  • Black Cardstock for the lines. *Black out* (bsktball)
  • Brown Cardstock for shadow behind the basketball. *Shadow* (bsktball)
  • Red Cardstock for the actual card.
  • **** For the actual card I did not use my Cricut. I folded a piece of paper and placed the football on the folded edge. I traced around the basketball and manually cut out the card. I did this for all of the cards.

Golf Mini Card

Measurements for cuts: 3 1/2 for all cuts for the golf ball. This image is found on page 71 of the Sports Mania handbook. This cut actually is of a ball and a tee, but I chose not to use the tee for this card.

Paper for cuts:

  • White Cardstock for the cut on the golf ball with holes in it. (Ball&Tee) *** On this cut, I used clear embossing powder and a heating tool to create a shiny effect.
  • White Cardstock for the smaller layer on top of the shiny layer. *Layer 1* (Ball&Tee)
  • White Cardstock as a background. *Black out* (Ball&Tee)
  • Black Cardstock for shadow behind the golf ball. *Shadow* (Ball&Tee)
  • Green Cardstock for the actual card.
  • **** For the actual card I did not use my Cricut. I folded a piece of paper and placed the golf ball on the folded edge. I traced around the golf ball and manually cut out the card. I did this for all of the cards.
Baseball Mini Card

Measurements for cuts: 3 1/2 for all cuts for the baseball. This image is found on page 63 of the Sports Mania handbook.

Paper for cuts:

  • White Cardstock for the front part of the baseball. (bsktball)
  • Red Cardstock for the laces. *Black out* (bsktball)
  • Blue Cardstock for shadow behind the baseball. *Shadow* (bsktball)
  • Red Cardstock for the actual card.
  • **** For the actual card I did not use my Cricut. I folded a piece of paper and placed the baseball on the folded edge. I traced around the baseball and manually cut out the card. I did this for all of the cards.

Just a note:
On all four cards I used pop dots to give the die cut dimension. After I glued the front layer(s) to the black out, I pop dotted them to the shadow.

I hope you enjoyed Mini Monday! Visit back tomorrow for Tag Tuesday! You can also feel free to visit my Etsy shop, where all of these cards will be in my inventory! Also, feel free to email me with any questions!
