Recently, I’ve been doing a study on the Old Testament. One of my favorite stories is the story of Noah. One thing that I really admire about Noah is that in a time where the whole world was corrupt, Noah decided to take the narrow road and serve the Lord.
One thing that is really scary to me is severe storms. I hate the thought of tornadoes, hurricanes and floods. However, it gives me comfort to know that whatever the weather brings, it will never be bad enough to completely flood everything.
I know this because of the promise that the Lord made to Noah in Genesis 9:14,15. He said:
“When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will appear in the clouds, and I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures. Never again will the flood waters destroy all life.”
I think it’s the coolest thing when the Lord clearly shows his promises to us. Today, I was reminded how good the Lord is, and how his promises and his love are unchanging. This is the beautiful image of his promise that I took from my front porch:
This is just a really neat picture of lightning that I took!!
