Review: Don't Drink Soda, Drink WAT-AAH!

In a world where so many of the beverages aimed at children are loaded with sugar, we as parents have to make a real effort to find ones that aren't. In my household, Raileigh primarily drinks water. She is allowed to drink juice, but not very often. I use it as more of a treat. When she does get juice, I give her all-natural juices with no added sugars. Still, juices have a lot of naturally occurring sugars from the fruits in them, which is not so great for her teeth.

When WAT-AAH recently contacted me about testing out their products, I was definitely on board to give it a try. What is WAT-AAH, you ask? WAT-AAH is, well, water with flair. It was created by a mom who wanted to find a way to get kids to drink more water as opposed to other sugary drinks. She sat down and thought about why kids are not normally drawn to water. Together with a group of moms, she determined that water is just all around boring! With the help of their kids, these moms developed a brand- WAT-AAH.

Do you want to know my favorite part of the story? The kids really did have a big part in the development. They helped create the name and had input on the bottle design. The kids are the ones who decided on the neon and black colors on the bottle. They said okay to the boy with the big mouth logo. The kids even starred in the first WAT-AAH commercials!

Today, there are four varieties of WAT-AAH. All four are made from ultra purified water and have absolutely no sugar. Each one does have a little something extra, though- something that is beneficial to a kid's growing body. Don't worry- you won't taste it. All you will taste is pure, clean water! Want to know what is in each variety of WAT-AAH? Take a look!

  • WAT-AAH Power- contains magnesium, to help bone growth
  • WAT-AAH Brain- contains electrolytes to encourage faster absorption, hydration, and cooling down
  • WAT-AAH Energy- contains oxygen for increased metabolic function and energy
  • WAT-AAH Body- contains only natural spring water
On May 3rd, WAT-AAH launched a new advertising campaign- "Don't Drink ______, Drink WAT-AAH". Feel free to fill in that blank however you deem appropriate! With this campaign, WAT-AAH has taken on the soda companies. They are on a mission to show moms and their kids that there really is an alternative to the sugary juices and sodas- one that actually tastes great, is healthy, and is cool. Take a minute to watch one of the videos that was released in correlation with the new campaign.

I am really proud to work with WAT-AAH. I mean, how many companies can you think of that really care about what our children are ingesting? Most companies are far more concerned with how much money they have flowing in. It's great to know that there is a company out there that is taking on these giant companies and doing everything they can to prevent childhood obesity. I think by including kids in the design of the company, WAT-AAH was really able to focus in on something that appeals to children.

My daughter may be young, but she is definitely already impressionable. Even though I don't offer her those brightly colored, sweet juices often, she gets very excited when I do. Bright colors are eye appealing. I definitely noticed that she was drawn to the WAT-AAH bottles when I showed them to her in our refrigerator. I really think it had a lot to do with the fun neon colors that the kid designers chose.

I let my daughter consume most of our WAT-AAH, but I wanted to give it a try myself. I really enjoyed it. I drink water pretty often, but I don't necessarily enjoy it. I just drink it because I know of the wonderful health benefits. When I sat down with my WAT-AAH Power, I drank the whole bottle in record time. It did have a crisp, refreshing taste, but I also think it had a little something to do with the cute neon orange boy on the label!

If you have not tried WAT-AAH with your kids, then I highly recommend it. If you would like to know where you can purchase WAT-AAH in your area, then just head on over to their website. You can type in your zip code to find out where WAT-AAH is available in your area. In my area, it is available at several local health food stores and at Whole Foods.

I think a tag line from one of WAT-AAH's first advertisements really sums it up best- FEEL SUP-AAH! RUN FAST-AAH! JUMP HIGH-AAH! GROW TALL-AAH! DRINK WAT-AAH!

No monetary compensation was received for this post. Victoria from DX Agency did send me a sample case of WAT-AAH to facilitate my review.
