Review & Giveaway: Splash Giggle

Bath time is such a fun time in our house. Raileigh loves to get in the water and play. I am constantly looking for new and different products to make bath time exciting and different. I came across the most adorable bath soaps at Splash Giggle.
Sasha is the wonderful mom behind Splash Giggle. This Australian based shop is filled with an assortment of creative soaps that are sure to liven up your little one's bath experience. Before I tell you about Sasha's wonderful etsy shop, take a moment to get to know this mom of 2 a little better!
Name and Location: Sasha Fowler - aka Splash Giggle - North Queensland (Australia). I called the shop Splash Giggle because they are the sounds that I love to hear from the bath, when my kids are enjoying bathtime and everyone is having fun!
What inspired you to open your etsy shop? I have always loved delicious soap. As a mum with 2 small kids (ages nearly 3, and 9 months), it is one of the few luxuries that I can keep to myself! But when I wanted to find some cute novelty soaps for the kids, as stocking stuffers, I couldn't find any in my small town, and very few online! So, I set about finding cute soap mold shapes and made them myself. The rest is history!
Apart from creating things, what do you like to do? Read. I love to read novels. And sing - to cd's, in the shower and in a choir. I also love the quiet time at the end of the evening, when it is just my hubby and I on the couch. Usually one of us is nodding off!
Is there any craft you don’t know how to do but wish you did? Knitting. My mum has always knitted beautiful jumpers for us all. I can't knit to save myself. I have lost count of the number of times she has showed me how to cast on and get started. It never lasts! But knitting always looks like such a restful activity. Mum knits while watching tv, having a conversation or even reading. How clever, to keep the fingers busy while the mind is otherwise engaged!
What is your greatest accomplishment in life this far? So many things, on different levels. I hope that raising our 2 children to be confident, well-mannered, helpful members of the community will be the greatest achievement in my life. But I am also proud of finishing my University degree (in law), and also starting my own small business, creating things that I love.
Where would you most like to travel to? I love Scotland. My grandfather was born in Glasgow, and my several visits to Scotland have made me want to live there permanently. But for holiday travel, I would love to go to Africa - cruise down the Nile, see the Serengeti and visit friends in South Africa.
If you could meet anyone from the past or present, who would you choose? Bono from U2. Not only my favourite ever rock band, but someone who works tirelessly for the welfare of the world's poorest people. I also admire that he has a loving family who are not in the spotlight, and who he says keep him very grounded.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? A Volvo-driving soccer mum! Our Miss 2 has a great left foot kick! Seriously, I don't want to go back into the rat-race, when the kids go to school. I would love to be able to expand my little enterprise into a mini Empire and continue creating products that I love.
Anyone or anything else you’d like to tell us about? Take the leap! If you have any ideas about something you really want to do, I thoroughly recommend having a plan on how to make it a reality -- and following through with the plan! Oh, and if there are ever any special requests for shapes / colours etc, I am very happy to do a custom order of soaps just for you!
Sasha is an incredibly sweet lady. I was thrilled when she agreed to let me review her shop. Sasha decided to send Raileigh a twinkle star soap. I thought that sounded like the perfect choice. The name alone sounds like fun, and I just knew that the soap would be as well.
The soap had to ship halfway around the world, but it arrived shortly after Christmas. Sasha had packaged our twinkle star soap in a small, plastic bag. It was tied with a pretty red ribbon. The star soap that we received is a soft pink color. You can also purchase the star soap on 5 other colors, including orange, yellow, blue, purple, and green.
One of my favorite things about the soap at Splash Giggle is that it is 100% natural. The soaps are made with real goats milk, coconut oil and vegetable glycerine. There are no alcohols, surfactants, detergents or sulphates. The twinkle star soap is unscented and hypoallergenic. Sasha does want to remind you, though, that the soaps contain goats milk. Since this is a dairy product, you should be aware of possible reactions for people with dairy allergies.
I could not wait to let Raileigh try out her new soap. In the past, we have mostly used body washes to clean her. She has never had a bar of soap to use or play with before. First, I dunked the soap in the water to get it wet. I rubbed it all over her to clean her. I was impressed with the generous lather created by the soap. I didn't have to rub hard at all to get the soap to lather.
The entire time I was cleaning Raileigh, she was watching what I did. The soap was definitely different than her normal body wash. When I finished, I handed her the soap. She started to rub it over her body, just as I had done. I would tell her to wash certain parts of her body, and she would rub the soap there. She also cleaned the wall of the tub and the rubber duckie.
Throughout the time Raileigh used the soap, she dropped the soap several times. She would have to pick it up out of the water. Since the soap was slippery, it was a bit difficult for her to grasp. I thought this was a great way to inadvertently work on fine motor skills. Raileigh seemed to enjoy the challenge of retrieving the soap from the water. I thought it could frustrate her, but it didn't.
Overall, the soap was a huge hit at bath time. Raileigh thoroughly enjoyed playing with it during her time in the tub. I know that she is going to play with it every time she takes a bath from here on out. The only time she wasn't a fan of it was when she tried to eat it. Soap doesn't taste so good.
In addition to the twinkle star soap, Sasha has a variety of fun designs in her shop. As I said earlier, all of the soaps are 100% natural. Unless clearly stated in the description, all soaps are also unscented. Here are a few of the other designs available at Splash Giggle.

I love Splash Giggle, I have brought two of Sasha's soaps already. My favorites are the Puzzle soaps, in which my son loves, and the Picasso pencil soaps. A very talented Australian artist.
