Creative Mamas Monday!

I am sorry I am making my post so late in the day. I have just been busy crafting all day! Before I tell you about all my fun projects from today, I didn’t find the strap from last week’s dress. I didn’t actually look to hard- I’ll try and remember to this week. It’s probably wherever all my knitting needles are.

EVERY single pair of my knitting needles has vanished, along with the glass vase I keep them in. It just sits on top of the storage cubes I keep my yarn in. I went to knit a few days ago after months of not touching yarn, and my entire collection of needles has vanished. Those I have looked for, but can come up with nothing. Our house was robbed a little over a month ago. All that was taken was my jewelry. Now, I’m beginning to think our robber might have had a knitting fetish!

Anyhow- back to this week. The first thing I made was a shirt for Raileigh. I sewed tiny buttons on to a shirt. The buttons spell out her initials in braille.

The next thing I worked on was another shirt for Raileigh. I actually started this one a few weeks ago, but didn’t finish it. Raileigh started carrying it around the house and got something on it, and I hadn’t worked on it since. I pulled it out today, got the spot out, and finished it. I washed it after I finished sewing it to start the frayed edge effect I love in appliques.

The last thing I made today was an embroidered Christmas ornament. I can’t take all the credit for this one- I got the idea from an ornament Katie at Katie’s Nesting Spot made last year. I did change a few things and make it my own. The embroidered hand print is Raileigh’s hand print. I had no idea how the embroidery would go because I’ve never embroidered much of anything before. It worked great, and I think I’ll be making one of these at Christmas every year.

In addition to all the fun stuff I made today, I have been making crafty stuff this past week as well. Yesterday, I posted a yummy Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. I made these cookies on Saturday and they are delicious! I also made Raileigh another appliqued shirt. I used an applique from the etsy shop Rain Frog Boutique. They are currently sponsoring a giveaway here on my site and you can win any applique in their shop.

I hope all of you have a fun and creative week. Thank you to Lindsey at A Kindred Spirit’s Thoughts for hosting Creative Mamas Monday!

No way, how awesome!!! I love your ornament I am so glad you made it. Your’s is so much fancier too, I really need to get back into teaching myself to sew. That little hand is so cute. Next year she’ll love putting her hand up next to it.
