Belated Happy Thanksgiving & Sorry for the Hiatus!

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving- stuffed yourself and spent a lot of quality time with your family! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We spent the morning at our house, eating cinnamon rolls and relaxing. We had lunch at my mother in law’s (along with my 2 brother in laws, one of their girlfriends, my husband’s step-father, and my sister). I took some green bean casserole. That is one of my most favorite side dishes. However, Darren doesn’t like it, so I never make it.

After lunch, we hung out for a while, talked, took family pictures, and watched some football. Raileigh had a wonderful time taking Angela’s (the brother in law’s girlfriend) jewelry. She pranced around in bangle bracelets and necklaces almost as long as she is tall. It was a lot of fun.

We left there and headed over to see Darren’s father, step-mother, and grandmother. Raileigh loves the little stuffed fire dog at Granny’s house, and she occupied herself playing with it. We had some delicious homemade pound cake and sat around talking and enjoying being together.

We finally headed home and it was getting dark by now. We chilled in front of the TV, watching some episodes of CSI NY.

Before I knew it, it was time to leave to pick up my mom and sister for our midnight jaunt to the Tanger Outlets. You’ve got to love those $5.99 pajamas at Gymboree! I got some great deals on clothes for Raileigh, including some $6 shoes at Nike, $3 skirts at Oshkosh, and a $5 dress at Carter’s. I even picked up some of the $15 jeans at Old Navy for myself. It was a successful shopping trip! I didn’t make it home until 5am, though. The outlets are about an hour away, so we spent around 4 hours shopping. It was cold and fun, and I’m sure we’ll be there again next year!

I slept as late as I could on Friday, but Darren had to be at work at 11am. I wanted a shower before he left, so I was still a little tired when I crawled out of bed. We hung around the house for a bit, then Raileigh and I ventured out to do a little more shopping. I went to Wal-Mart and Target and all I bought was baby wipes. We had a great time, though. We’re both people watchers and Black Friday is a great day to do that!

Night time rolled around and with that came High School Football. Darren’s youngest brother was in the elite eight of the High School Football Championships. His team is ranked 1st in the state. Jesse is a starting tight end and probably had the best game of his high school career. Unfortunately, his team played a little flat and got some bad breaks. His first place team was brought down and Jesse played his last game of high school football.

At the game, I started feeling a little hoarse and my throat started feeling scratchy. I blamed it on the cold air and yelling for the team. However, this morning I woke up and knew that wasn’t the case. My throat feels so awful. It feels kind of like it’s been scraped a lot and had something that makes it burn put all in it. Yuck. So, my daughter is at the mother in law’s while my husband is at work. I am trying really hard not to get her sick. I’m going to try and get a few new giveaways up this afternoon, but it may be tomorrow.

Thank you to all of you for reading my blog. When I started this a month ago, I didn’t know if I could really make it happen. Because of all of you, it really is coming together. Thansk a lot for stopping by and I hope you will continue to!
